Global Warming My Foot...


The snow started Friday evening. And while we didn't get the 1-3 inches they predicted...it's still rather remarkable to see very green grass lightly covered by snow. It's a good thing John took this picture because by the time I got up Saturday morning it was gone.

100 Things You May Not Know...

1. I was born in the 70’s.
2. I’ve never broken a bone.
3. The only surgery I’ve had was to get my wisdom teeth pulled.
4. I sing in the car…all the time.
5. I have perfect feet.
6. I would change almost everything else about my “features”.
7. Except that I think I have pretty eyelashes.
8. Sunday is my favorite day of the week.
9. I’m a firm believer that Sunday is a “day of rest”.
10. I can pinpoint my earliest memory.
11. It was riding in the back seat of a 1980 Honda Civic during a test drive. I was 4.
12. I have a hard time falling asleep.
13. I also have a hard time waking up.
14. I can’t stand to have unpainted toenails.
15. So I’ve polished them consistently since I was 16 years old.
16. I played the oboe in high school.
17. I’ve played piano since the 2nd grade.
18. My parents never once had to force me to practice.
19. My parents did have to ask me to stop playing.
20. I love scary movies.
21. I hate haunted houses.
22. I’m particular about the texture of foods.
23. As a child, I wanted to adopt children from Romania, and drive them around in a passenger van.
24. I prefer black ink pens to blue.
25. I threw away my high school yearbooks.
26. My mother thinks that’s crazy.
27. I was indifferent about the entire experience and don’t feel the need to pack and store four very heavy books full of people I didn’t know very well.
28. I did however, have a good time at my 10 year high school reunion.
29. I enjoy public speaking (to a group).
30. I’m horrible at small talk.
31. I just bought canvas bags to use at the grocery store because it suddenly dawned on me how wasteful grocery sacks are.

40. I love news programs or dramas about solving crimes, rescuing animals, or surgical procedures.

42. I didn’t learn to drive a stick until I was 21.

46. Except a Heath Bar which beats everything else.

48. I’m critical of contemporary Christian music.

52. Having something stuck in my teeth drives me batty.

56. I took racquetball and pottery my senior year of college…that’s all I took.
57. I did sign up for Spanish but I dropped it because there was too much homework.
58. I haven’t taken a math class since my junior year of high school.

62. That’s not, however, why I married him.
63. It makes me sad that people don’t write letters anymore.
64. I wrote a one page letter last week and my hand got tired.

67. I got in trouble a lot in preschool for acting up during nap time.

69. I had a retainer in the 2nd grade but broke it in half while playing handball.

72. We planted a garden last weekend.
73. I am now the proud owner of two little pea sprouts about ¼ inch tall.

79. I worked in the deli department at a grocery store for one summer in college.

83. Catching a fly ball during a youth group softball game is one of my proudest moments.

85. I waited a long time to say that phrase. Not because it’s taken me a long time to love him…but because it’s taken me a long time to love anyone that way.
86. I have a spot on my middle finger. I can’t decide if it’s a mole or a splinter. It’s been there for several weeks.
87. I love old windows. I own two. I paid more for one of them than I did for my dog.
88. An ideal weekday is being in my pajamas by 6:00pm.
89. Doing this on a weekend would make me feel sad and pathetic.
90. I talk to my dog like a real person. I think she understands part of what I say.
91. I always get money back after doing my taxes (or having them done) but every year I fear that THIS year will be the year I owe thousands of dollars.
92. I own about 20 pairs of shoes. 17 of those are either black or brown.
93. I have awesome friends.
94. My parents are fun to hang out with.
95. I’ve always wanted to learn sign language.
96. I have no idea why.
97. I have a pink ipod and a red phone.
98. I’ve been able to keep my houseplants alive for almost 5 years.
99. I’m particular about what doors are open and what doors are closed when I go to bed. John can sleep with the front door unlocked and possibly ajar.
100. I’m sometimes more critical than I’d like to be.
